Buying lingerie used to be a challenge. There are all the different sizes and then there are all the different types of bra and knickers. We all know, from the moment of the classic ‘Does this make me look fat?’ question, that shopping for a lady is going to be difficult.
I work in this industry and I still get confused by the bra sizes, so you’re not alone! Your best bet is simply to ask her what size she is, what colours she likes and what style is her favourite.
However, often we want the lingerie to be a naughty surprise to fuel an evening’s passion. In that case, your best bet is to raid her knicker draw to find out her size. You should also pay close attention to her favourite colours, as it will be up to her how often she’ll wear it, so quash your more extreme tastes - it is more important that she feels sexy, not you.
If you feel unsure as to what she will like, and don’t want to ask her (if in doubt, asking is always the best option), then you
can stick to something simple like a babydoll, which come in small, medium and large, and flatters everybody.
The same is also true of thongs – if she already wears thongs, then they will be a great buy, but if she doesn’t, be aware that
this will often be because she doesn’t feel sexy wearing them.
If you have no idea what colour to buy, black or pink are seldom wrong.
Here are a few pointers:
- Avoid anything that has “control” on the label, these are to hide excess weight and to suck in bellies so unless you
want to tell your partner that she is fat do not buy these. - Remember that it’s not for you. Unless she has told you she likes it, choosing anything like leather, PVC, crotchless,
cupless, peephole lingerie, French Maid or a Naughty Nurse outfit may not be a good idea. You may end up sleeping
on the sofa or even worse at a mates’ house. - When choosing lingerie think about her body shape and what she considers to be her problem areas and opt for a
style that flatters the figure in other areas. - Remember that sexy lingerie doesn’t come in just satin and lace. If your loved one is a cotton kind of girl, a flirty cotton
camisole and pj set will suit her and still be romantic and sexy. - Gift wrapping – What something comes in is important to a girl. A beautifully wrapped present will always be well
